I've not been writing for some time, for all the wrong reasons but now I'm back and will be posting my ongoing adventures on a more regular basis.
I have now been retired almost two years and must say I'm really enjoying life, in a way I never expected to. I knew immediately I moved back here that it was the right thing to do, even at the advanced age of 65 - I felt in my heart that I was "home". The past three years have only proved my feeling right as I have made new friends, connected with old school friends and explored new (and known) places in this wonderful valley that I'm lucky enough to live in.
The couple of pictures here are from my most recent walk this week around Todmorden, including a quite steep climb up through Buckley Woods to reach Todmorden Edge - wonderful views!

View across the valley to Gauxholme

Flowers growing on a bank by the road.

My lovely friends Heather Dempsey and Susan Lawton outside Dobroyd Castle
|
View across the valley with Studley Pike on the skyline - as ever. Wherever you are in the valley you can usually see the Pike.
Well, that's all for now - more to follow early next week after we have had our Monday Music afternoon!
